Diving in Anilao - January

A few weeks ago Mike, Liz and I went up to Anilao to do some diving. It was great. The weather was perfect and the resort was lovely. It was small but cute with nice food and cheap beer. The bar and restaurant overlooked the sea with unspoilt views which was perfect for watching the sun go down.

Some fish above a giant clam. These clams were open when we went down but quickly clamped shut when we swam closer.

The diving there was beautiful. You can't tell from the pictures but the visibility was really good. In this dive we got to see lots of cool things apart from the usual fish and coral. We saw huge shoals of jack fish and a battery of barracudas. We also went to a popular dive site called Cathedral Rock. Which actually has a sunken stone cross that was allegedly blessed by Pope JP the 2nd! Not sure if that is actually true or not but being a superstitious Catholic, I blessed myself and touched it just in case.

All in all, we had a lovely weekend and I would definitely go back to Anilao and the resort again.
